If your pet has a complex health issue, our complete physical exam and review of completed diagnostic tests will assist us in an appropriate treatment plan. Minimally invasive diagnostic tests are utilized whenever possible. Laboratory testing is crucial in many internal medicine evaluations to help determine the functionality of various organs and systems (ex: the endocrine system) and to look for signs of inflammation or infection. Some tests require general anesthesia, and an overnight hospitalization may be recommended to prepare the patient for his or her procedure.
We will discuss with you the various treatment options, taking into consideration your pet’s lifestyle, his or her quality of life, and your goals.
Because diseases can progress, some tests may need to be repeated over time. Each pet is unique, so we discuss recommended follow up exams and diagnostic testing with each pet owner on an individual basis.
