Dixie's tournament career began in 2003, when she won the North American Tournament Hunting Assn's Amateur Dog of the Year award. Since that time, she has competed in the professional ranks, winning the
U.S. Pheasant Open Championship 3 times since 2005.

NATHA instituted the Top Dog Showdown in 2005, pitting the top 2 places in the U.S. Open against the top 4 point earning dogs of the season. Dixie has challenged for this title 3 times, placing 3rd in 2005, 2nd in 2007 (losing by 12 seconds), and captured the Top Dog Showdown Championship in 2008! Dixie was heavily featured in the television series "U.S.Pheasant Open", which aired on the Sportsman's Channel in the spring of 2009.

Dixie has had the opportunity of hunting 8-9 months of the year, all across the Midwest, and has well over 6500 flushes and retrieves to her credit (much to the detriment of my bank account). I am convinced that all of her accomplishments would not have been possible without the quality care that you, Dr. John and Dr. Janine have provided over the years. Even now, at the age of 9, Dixie still commands great respect in the tournament field, and contends every time she enters the field.
